Ethanol

Fuel ethanol is a potential success story for Queensland, although it is relatively new. Ethanol has long been used as a transport fuel and can successfully power internal combustion engines by itself or mixed with conventional petrol. The majority of vehicles in Queensland can already use a mixed fuel of up to 10 per cent ethanol quite safely.
