I have submitted my Application and have been confirmed eligible

The Queensland Solar Hot Water Program is underway with more than 33,000 Queenslanders who registered their interest in the Program before July 1 2009 receiving Application Packs. Installations are now progessing following the announcement of the first supplier to the Queensland Solar Hot Water Program.

What happens next?

Queensland Solar Hot Water ProgramOver the next few weeks eligible applicants will be matched with suppliers in their area. The Office of Clean Energy will contact eligible applicants with the details of their supplier and the next steps they need to take. Your assigned supplier will contact you to ask some questions related to system installation requirements, and in some cases arrange a site visit.

As mentioned in the Application Pack you received, the Federal Government is offering a rebate to help with the cost of installing a solar or heat pump hot water system.

The Queensland Government will pay that federal rebate on your behalf to ensure you receive your hot water system sooner, and  that you are not out-of-pocket for this amount for any period of time. When you receive that federal rebate, you will need to repay the Queensland Government the federal rebate amount by depositing the equivalent rebate amount into the Queensland Government account.

Please ensure you have completed, signed, and returned the Details and Authority to Direct Debit Account form you received with your letter confirming you are eligible to participate in this Program. The form enables the Queensland Government to debit a nominated credit card or bank account. This will only occur if you fail to pay the federal rebate within seven days of you receiving a notice from the Queensland Government requiring that you make such payment.

How long until my system is installed?

This Program is one of the largest and most complex industry transformation projects of its kind and has already reached major milestones. The first supplier has been appointed and the Office of Clean Energy expects to announce the appointment of more suppliers in coming weeks.

The Office of Clean Energy advises the rate of installations will increase as more suppliers are added to the Queensland Government's Standing Offer Arrangement and their capacity to do high volumes of quality installations increases.

Please be patient. The Office of Clean Energy appreciates your interest in this Program.
